VMware Explore (VMworld) is an annual event that brings together a community of IT professionals, industry experts, and VMware enthusiasts to learn, network, and share their experiences. As an Enterprise Architect at CDW, attending VMware Explore has been a significant milestone in my professional growth. It has helped me stay on top of the latest trends and technologies in the virtualization and cloud space.
CDW is a leading provider of technology solutions for businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions. As an Enterprise Architect, my role is to help our clients design, implement, and manage complex IT infrastructures that meet their business needs. VMware is a critical technology partner for CDW, and we have a long-standing relationship with the company. We have deployed VMware solutions for our clients across various industries, including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
I have been attending VMware Explore (VMworld) since 2014, and attending has been an essential part of my career development. I have been blogging about my experiences since. I have written about a few ways that VMware Explore has helped me:
1. Staying on top of the latest trends and technologies
Every year, the conference brings together thousands of IT professionals worldwide to learn about the latest trends and technologies in the industry. In my position, staying on top of the latest developments in the virtualization and cloud space is essential. Attending VMware Explore has allowed me to learn about new products, features, and capabilities that can help our clients meet their IT goals.
2. Networking with industry experts and peers
VMware Explore is also an excellent opportunity to network with industry experts and peers. The conference attracts a diverse group of IT professionals- including engineers, architects, consultants, and executives. Attending the conference has allowed me to meet new people and exchange ideas with colleagues who are facing similar challenges. Networking at VMware Explore has helped me build relationships that have led to new business opportunities and partnerships. I would also like to mention the VMware User Group or VMUG, which meets each year at this event and offers another way to stay connected to local peers throughout the year.
3. Learning from customer success stories
VMware Explore is not just a product showcase; it's also a platform for customers to share their success stories. The conference features dozens of sessions and workshops led by VMware customers who share their experiences and best practices. These sessions have been valuable to me as an Enterprise Architect because they provide real-world examples of how VMware solutions are helping businesses achieve their IT goals.
4. Engaging with VMware experts
Finally, attending VMware Explore has given me the opportunity to engage with VMware experts directly. The conference features hundreds of technical experts who are available to answer questions and provide guidance. As an Enterprise Architect, it's essential to have access to experts who can help me learn, design and implement better solutions that meet a client's unique needs. Engaging with VMware experts has been invaluable to me as I work to solve complex IT challenges for my clients.
I look forward to attending VMware Explore 2023 and continuing to grow and develop professionally.
