This will be my third time in Vegas for VMworld and I am looking forward to returning to Vegas but honestly it would be nice to see VMware move this back to San Francisco for a change of scenery.  A week in Vegas is a lot especially with the hot weather, although you will probably stay inside the majority of the time.

Don't forget to sign-up for hands-on labs but note that these labs are available to you outside of VMworld and you can go through them at the leisure of your own home. I recently hosted an VMC on AWS hands-on labs utilizing the free online labs for my VMUG group.

Where to stay?

The event will be held at the prestigious Mandalay Bay Hotel & Convention Center located here:

3950 S Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89119
Phone: 702-632-7777

There are other options for staying around the event and plenty within walking distance. There are also trams you can take from the hotels to get to the Mandalay Bay. The tram is on a elevated track connecting, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur. If you are adventurous you can stay at a hotel on the strip and take advantage of UBER.

I have stayed at the MGM and the Luxor in the past and can say that the Luxor is not that nice. I would recommend something like the MGM properties.
